A Lesson In Blues - Part II

All photos and sources can be found via my Pinterest account.

In case I didn't make it clear last time, blue is my favourite colour (ever - no discussion possible). I go from navy in the winter to powder blues in the summer and any shade in between for spring and autumn. Ok, I still wear a lot of navy right now but in all fairness, England has showed no sign of summer whatsoever.

I was browsing through my recent pins (as one does on a Monday evening when feeling deeply uninspired) and surprise surprise blue was still dominating my boards. I took this as my cue it was time for another lesson in blues. If you've missed the first one, you can catch up here.

Hope it inspires you as much as it inspired me!

The Denim Dungaree

Wearing: H&M wedges, ASOS denim dungaree, H&M stripy top, Zara blazer and &Other Stories clutch.

I’ve always loved dungarees (proof here) but I never thought in a million years I’d ever wear a pair again! I remember running around when I was a little girl and going to play-dates with my favourite denim dungarees usually paired with stripy tops (my tastes haven’t changed much as you can see). I remember thinking it was cooler than anything else I had ever put on and so convenient and you know what? That’s exactly what I felt today.

“Non fashion” people often ask what it is that we love about fashion. My answer is usually that it is a way to express myself. But today, my answer would probably be: it’s a way to have fun! I mean, how cool is it that I get to wear a variation of an outfit I wore 20 years ago?! To me, fashion is about taking blasts from the past and relive them in the present (often in a much less embarrassing way). You’ve probably noticed how everything we used to wear when we were younger like bermudas, sneakers or sporty trousers are all making their big come backs. Never would have I thought I’d wear this kind of things again; High school put an end to it many moons ago (at least in my case). But I’m now ready for some fun, bring it on!

On my lust list: the Celine leather & python bag

I love designer pieces, I really do but my wallet simply cannot afford them on a regular basis. If there is one category I allow myself to splurge on though, that’s bags.

I purchased my very first designer bag just under 2 years ago when I started a new job (a little congratulations treat to myself). It was a gorgeous Celine leather tote. I remember how excited I was; I literally did happy dances all over my apartment! It was pretty comical. Rich was starring at me stunned, wondering how a bag could generate that much excitement. Sadly, I eventually got tired of the bag, mostly because I was seeing it everywhere. Funnily, it’s actually one of the reasons why I bought it in the first place.

This led me to think about “it” bags and whether or not I really want to “own” one again. It does provide a feeling of utter satisfaction, knowing you’ve got the one bag fashion editors, bloggers and celebrity alikes are strutting along with or coveting, but what’s the point? Do I really want to be like everyone else? I don’t know for you but I hate being in a room where someone is wearing the same thing than me. I think I’ve realised this includes bags as well (other colours and patterns permitted).

I guess what I’m trying to say is that I want to go for designer bags that might not be as “hype” as some of the other bags yet will be perfect for me and my personal style. I’m sure the satisfaction would be even greater!

My absolute favourite at the moment is this amazing python & leatherbag by Celine. Surprise surprise, I’m obviously a Celine fan! I seem to fall madly in love with all their leather goods collection. Whether or not I’ll buy it, that I don’t know yet but it’s certainly on top of my lust list.

Now I want to hear from you! What’s your opinion on it bags? Any designer bags on your wish lists?

Mesh & Flowers

Wearing: Converse sneakers, H&M printed trousers and T-shirt, ASOS mesh biker jacket, Wayfarer sunglasses and Topshop bag.

Happy sunday!

I thought I'd stop by quickly to show you guys what I'm wearing today before heading out for lunch in town with the boyfriend. We're going to Jamie's Italian. I love their planks and plates to share so I'm really looking forward to a long and lazy lunch enjoying little bites while sipping a glass of wine. By the way, did you know Jamie Oliver is on Instagram? If you feel like drooling every day, you should follow him!

What are you all to today?

The Stripy Shorts

Wearing: H&M wedges, Zara shorts and COS dress (tucked in).

I had the laziest bank holiday weekend and it was exactly what I needed! Plus the weather was gorgeous. I finally got to wear these stripy shorts I purchased at Zara's a few weeks ago. My skin is definitely screaming for sun light; I'm so pale! So here's to hopefully many more sunny weekends!

Have you all had a good weekend?
