We chose to spend our last few days of holiday in London. We’ve been there so many times now that we’ve done all the touristy stuff; When we go for a couple of days, it’s really just to try out new restaurants, cafes and go to gigs or exhibitions.
One thing we really wanted to do this time was check out the Richard Rogers exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts. My boyfriend is an architect and one of his favourite building - the Centre Pompidou in Paris - was designed by Rogers and his team. So it was definitely an exhibition not to be missed for him. As someone who doesn’t know anything about modern architecture, I thought it was quite interesting. He seems like a well-balanced man who knows his art but also enjoys making the most of life. His house in Italy looks pretty good too!
In any case, here’s a little overview of what Rich and I got up to in London:
[1 to 7] Long walks in the royal parks with ice cream, pretty views and lovely flowers, [8.9] charming Primrose Hill, picnic on top of Primrose Hill (PS I have no idea who the couple is on the photo), [11,12] Melrose & Morgan in PH for sandwiches, [13,14] Monmouth in Covent Garden for a coffee and an almond croissant (best croissant i've ever had!). Not on the photos but worth mentioning: we went to Jamie Oliver's pop up diner in Piccadilly: great comfort food (all sustainable ingredients cooked as healthily as possible) in a dinosaur-themed restaurant. Tell your man to go for the ribs, he will not regret it! I also recommend the quesadillas and nachos for a starter and the strawberry vanilla sizzle cocktail.
